Service Description

Want your dog to come back because they understand the system..not because you shouted louder? Recall Foundations & Reset is a practical one-to-one training session for owners who want to build safer, clearer and more reliable recall in the real world. This service is suitable for dogs who are just learning recall, as well as dogs who already come back sometimes but struggle when the environment becomes more exciting. We focus on the foundations that make recall work: motivation, reward value, timing, engagement, release cues, long-line handling, owner habits and knowing when your dog is ready for more freedom. This is not a fake promise of perfect recall in one session. No responsible trainer can guarantee that in every environment. The aim is to give you a simple, repeatable system that you and your dog can practise and build on. The session is coached by Carl, using practical trainer-led handling experience from thousands of hours working with dogs outdoors. The focus is on recall that makes sense in real life around smells, open spaces, dogs, people, wildlife and exciting environments. During the session, we may cover: recall foundations building engagement outdoors reward choice and motivation marker timing long-line handling release cues emergency recall common owner mistakes when not to let your dog off lead building value in coming back recall around real-world distractions a simple practice plan to continue with This is ideal for puppies, young dogs, newly adopted dogs, adolescent dogs, dogs with inconsistent recall, or owners who want a safer system before allowing more freedom. It is also useful for Simply Spoilt members who want their dog’s skills to support safer adventures, better communication, calmer group experiences and more confident outdoor time. Please note, this service is not suitable for dogs who are unsafe off lead, highly reactive, aggressive, or at high risk of chasing livestock or wildlife without careful management.
